OUR OBJECTIVE

Furry Hopes aims to raise funds for IAPWA Penang to reduce strays' dogs and cats population within Penang; in line with the city council's 2015-2019 Zero Stray Programme. Funds received from Furry Hopes will be donated to IAPWA Penang and to support the running of the TNR Programme.

WHO IS IAPWA

Independent Aid for Protection and Welfare of Animals (IAPWA Penang) is a non-profit organization registered with the Registrar of Society of Malaysia with the registration number PMM-006-07-24102017. IAPWA is dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need. All work is funded entirely by the generosity of animal lovers worldwide.

WHAT IS TNR

Trap-Neuter-Return is a humane, non-lethal alternative to trap and kill. In the long term, TNR lowers the numbers of cats and dogs in the community more effectively. TNR is a comprehensive management plan in which cats and dogs are humanely trapped, evaluated and sterilized by a licensed veterinarian, vaccinated against rabies, and then returned to their original habitat.
